Vacation: Leg #3 NE Ohio

(sorry, this post is lacking lots of pictures, I’m bad taking pictures sometimes…..)

On our last few days of vacation we headed to North Eastern Ohio to visit with Tim’s family and attend a graduation party.

On early Friday, while still at home, I had a doctor appointment to get another shot in my foot, but that was early and after my run.  After that, for Father’s Day,  I took Tim to this awesome restaurant Fogo De Chao.  If you or your man loves meat, this is definitely a place for you to visit.  See if there is a location in your area and check it out.  Then it was time to leave Indy for the third time in a week’s time.

We drove the 5-5 ½ hours to Tim’s sister’s house and we visited with them for a couple of hours before heading to our hotel.  We stayed in Akron, OH at this awesome hotel called the Quaker Square Inn.   It is part of the University of Akron and it was pretty neat.

The Quaker Square Inn must have been quite the touristy place in the past, there were many trains there as well as a few other neat things, so I had to take some pictures of that too.  Cooper loves trains so it was pretty fun for him to look around.

Saturday morning we went to one of Tim’s favorite restaurants in this area…. Yankee Kitchen.  For those who don’t read this blog much, I’ll just say this; one of our favorite parts of visiting Tim’s family is the awesome food in the area.  We normally bring lots of food home with us and stuff ourselves like crazy while we’re there…..  Anyway, we ate breakfast at the Yankee Kitchen before heading out to the graduation party.  Then we went to the party for Tim’s cousin’s son Kyle, who had just graduated the previous Sunday.  It was a good time.  Cooper got to play with a few other little kids, and his favorite, a big bucket of ice with a plastic spoon. (it was there to cool drinks)  I got to meet a few more members of Tim’s family and the food they served at the party was amazing.  I wish I had gotten some pictures of the dessert table, OH EM GEE!!!   I got one of everything and split each of them in ½ and shared with Tim.  Yummo!

Saturday evening, we met up with Tim’s nephew, Kevin, and had a drink at another local restaurant.  We had a relaxing evening with Kevin then around the hotel.

Sometime on Saturday, we went to this crazy thing called a beverage tunnel.  Ever heard of this?  It’s like a big barn that you drive through and they bring you cold drinks or candy, or  beer, or anything else that a convenience store has.  It is one of the strangest things I’ve ever experienced.

Sunday morning, we arose early, took advantage of the nice breakfast at the hotel then headed back to Tim’s sister’s house to visit for a little bit longer before we hit the road back to Indianapolis.

We made it back just in time to go swimming and get back in the swing of things for the next week.

That’s it for our vacation wrap up!  Hope you enjoyed, we had a lot of fun on our little vacation.
