Our Summer...... (Part 3 of 5)

JULY.

Part three is all about July.  We had a pretty fun filled month and here are some photos..

1) Independence Day.  Here are Cooper, Katy and Kampbell in their red, white and blue.  Just love how precious these three are - so difficult to get them to smile at the same time though!  The Bram Fam came over and Andrew was home, so we had some food and celebrated.  Then, I took Cooper into downtown Indianapolis for the fireworks show that night.  We had a great day!

2) Katy climbing the dishwasher.  Not sure what it is about my kids loving the dishwasher, but they both have loved climbing in it.  Crazy kiddos.

3) Tim's surgery.  Tim had a short outpatient procedure to remove some weird tissue things he randomly gets.  This is him coming out of anesthesia.  He's always funny when he starts waking up.  He never remembers any of it later on though.  Wish I could have gotten some video.

4) KB's birthday!  Kampbell turned 2 on July 11th.  She's such a sweet grandbaby and I love her so much!!

5) Friday night sprinkler celebration - no real reason, he just wanted to have some sprinkler time, so we did it.

6) My Grandpa's birthday was July 13th and we went down on the 12th to celebrate with him.  Wish I had more pictures, but these will have to do.  Him with his cupcakes :)

7)  The 13th we celebrated Kampbell's birthday at her house for a family party.  She was having a "bee" themed party, so I made her this cupcake cake.

Here are a few pictures of the pretty one on her birthday :)

8) Cooper had swim lessons for 2 weeks during the month of July, here are a few pictures from that:

I just love this one.  He's so handsome!!!

9) We took Kampbell, Cooper and Katy to a splash parkon the 22nd.  It really wasn't warm enough for them to be playing in the water, but hey, it was summertime, so we had to make the most of it.  Poor kiddos had blue lips when we were finished.

Again the smiling at the same time is rough.

10) July 28th we had the Sprinkle for Steph you can click to read more.

11) Another splash park visit with the Cooper and Kate after the sprinkle on the 28th.  They loved this one!

12)  Last, but not least, we bought ourselves a camper!!  Read about that here.

Summer, Part three - OUT!  Stay Tuned, Part 4 coming right up....

Surprise! Sprinkle for Stephanie!

This past Saturday, I was fortunate enough to be able to go together with Stephanie's mom and MIL to host a surprise sprinkle for her.  We started planning back in May or so for this little event, and though some folks weren't able to make it, I think it turned out nicely.

We got the private room in Steph's favorite restaurant and got everything setup.  Steph's mom made the flower arrangement below, It was super cute with silk flowers, rolled "flower" bibs and socks for Mr. Brambino. Yep, Brambino is the little guy's nickname.  We won't find out his real name until he's born.  They are keeping tight lipped about it!  What we know is that he has the same initials as Ryan and his middle name.

Anyway, back to setting up....  Carla (Ryan's Mom) made the cutest little gift packs for the attendees.  Everyone received a travel sized Bath and Body works lotion and a small candle.  They were so cute.  Since Brambino's room is nautical themed, we went with a nautical theme for the cupcakes, which I had ordered from a local bakery.

It wasn't the most elaborately decorated party, for sure not as decorated as her shower for Kampbell, but that was okay, it was food, fun, friends and gifts, and that's what was most important.  Here is the setup of the room.

Once we finished eating and devouring our cupcakes, Steph opened her gifts, and we took pictures to document the event.

Ryan was such a good sport and hung around for the festivities, and he did such a GREAT job scheming to get Stephanie to the party without having a clue what she was walking into.  Thanks Ryan!

It was a fun time and I'm so glad we were able to surprise Stephanie and celebrate her and the incoming new edition to their (our) family!!

Baby Johnson: 27 weeks

This week is 27 weeks!  Yup, that’s right, 27.  Sooooo exciting!  Today, one of my work friends Jill, is having her baby, she is the last pregnant person I know in my non blogging world who is having her baby before me.  I’ve got 11-12 weeks to go…  I cannot believe it.  I probably say that each week.

Events over the past week/month:

  • I’ve baked lots of cakes.  And I’m baking another one tonight.  So many birthdays in the last month.  Which means lots of cake consumption.  I’m loving it, but I’m not sure it’s the best thing for me.
  • Due to cake consumption, milkshake consumption has been down this week, which is definitely good.
  • Progress on Kathryn’s room has been little.  I did finish one wall last weekend.  I spent 3.5 hours in there last Sunday and I only worked on the “details”  but you know what, it looks awesome.  I cannot wait for the rest of it to be done.
  • Last weekend was the Surprise Sprinkle that Holly and Aly threw for me, read more about it on my blog here, and on Holly’s blog here.  It was amazing.
  • We’ve been going, going, going every night this week.  Monday night Cooper and I went to Denny’s to eat breakfast for dinner, then to the grocery store to get stuff for Erica’s cake.  Tuesday we visited with Steph and Kampbell.  Wednesday we had dinner and cake to celebrate Erica’s birthday.  Thursday was our only night at home this week and it was wonderful.  Tonight will be cake baking for my grandma’s birthday celebration tomorrow.
  • Cooper is obsessed with playing hockey and has been waking up super early every morning just so that he can play before he has to get ready for school.  Kathryn, your big brother is so silly and I cannot wait for the two of you to be friends.  He’s such a sweetie and I know you’re going to love him and he’s going to love you to pieces too.  He’ll give you sweet kisses and try to give you bear hugs.

27 week comparison picture below.  I don’t even want to address the size of that belly, so I won’t.

And finally, the weekly bump progression.  I cannot imagine how big I’m going to get in the next 11-12 weeks.  Eeks!

Happy Weekend Everyone!

SPRINKLE SURPRISE!

If any of you follow Holly or Aly on instagram, you've heard about the Surprise Sprinkle that they along with my step-daughter Stephanie threw for me over the weekend.  Oh my gosh ya'll, I cannot tell you how surprised I was.  Let me tell you the back story.

For weeks now, Tim has been telling me that he was taking me out of town for the weekend after our anniversary.  Our anniversary was last Thursday, so I was pretty excited that we were leaving Saturday morning and weren't coming home until Monday afternoon according to Tim.  Well.... turns out, this was not exactly the weekend we were going away.....

Thursday night and Friday night, Tim cleaned.  He cleaned like we were having a party or like my Mom was coming to stay.  Which was his story.  My mom was coming to watch Cooper for the weekend, while we went away for our trip.  So I didn't think much of it while he cleaned like a crazy man.  Cooper and I even went out with Erica, Mel, Bill, and Mary Friday night so that he could have the house to himself to get more cleaning done.

He had me pack on Saturday morning.  He told me what to wear and what to pack - since he knew the activites we'd be doing and I didn't.  I thought nothing of it.  He wouldn't tell me anything about where we were going except that we were heading south.  He told me we had a lunch reservation in town then we were heading out.  So we packed up the van on Saturday and made our way out.

He pulled up directions on his iPhone to the Greenwood Park Mall, and the app told him exactly how to get there.  I knew as soon as she said Greenwood Park Mall that we were going to Bravo! to eat.  It's my favorite restaurant.

When we pulled up, we parked next to a white Toyota Venza that just happened to have Missouri license plates.  I just randomly told Tim, that looks like Holly's new car, Vivian....  I think about this point, his head started to explode, because of all of the places he found to park, it was next to Holly's, but he played it well.  He said something like "Emily, do you really think Holly is here? Why would she be here?"  I knew in reality it was just the biggest coincidence but I just had to take a picture and text her because I thought it was hilarious.

Well, when we got into Bravo!  Tim told the host we had reservations, and he took us back to the big surprise...

I was pretty surprised.

Then I saw Holly:

You can see for yourself how the entire thing played out, I cannot believe I'm sharing this video due to the fact that I PUSHED Aly out of the way and COMPLETELY ignored the rest of my friends/family to get to Holly to give her a hug.  I was just in shock that she was actually there.  I couldn't get over it and couldn't see anyone but her for a minute.....

Once the shock wore off, I was super excited to see everyone!  I couldn't believe that they had done this for me.  They had been on covert operations for a couple of months planning this entire thing.  Holly contacted Stephanie to get addresses for her, and they went to all kinds of trouble arranging everything.  Then they showed up, all three of the fine fine ladies decorated and made this a supremely special day for me.  My closest friends were there, my mom was there and my second mom Mary was there.  I am a lucky lucky girl.

I need to give a shout out also, to Kristen, for designing and providing the invitations to Holly.  She wouldn't let Holly pay her a cent for them, and she even designed a game for us to play!  If you are ever in need of some custom invitations, cards, thank yous, etc, please contact Kristen's Little Laws Prints!  She's awesome!  I contacted her on Saturday after the party and she designed some Thank Yous for me, and as soon as I get them from her, I'll be writing them out and sending them to all of the ladies who were there for me!

Here is a mock up of the invitation.  Insert Emily Johnson for Savannah Morrison and Katy for Jensina and then the address of Bravo! As well as Holly's info for the RSVP stuff and you've got the picture.  She changed all the info on this one to post on Facebook so that it would still be a surprise.

Here's a picture of the entire group of ladies in attendance.

Holly, Aly, Stephanie, I love you ladies and appreciate all that you did for me on Saturday!

37 Weeks! Full Term!

37 Weeks! Cooper is now 37 weeks old - and he's full term! YEA we made it this far! :)

Last weekend, we didn't do much. We did some major relaxing and it was much needed! Friday night was Stephanie's birthday and we went to Olive Garden with a couple of her friends and it was fun! Saturday and Sunday we slept in pretty late and did some cleaning and grocery shopping, but it was a wonderfully relaxing weekend!

Andrew had county tournament on Tuesday and Wednesday after school, his team won against Speedway on Tuesday and then lost yesterday against Park Tudor. They play again on Saturday, just a regular match, against Ben Davis.

Stephanie has been really busy this week, not home many evenings. She's got lots going on these days! Busy busy girl!

On Tuesday when I saw the doctor, I had the non-stress test on Cooper and he was such a good boy, kicking when he needed to and gave the nurse a good baseline heart beat, which he hadn't done in awhile. The doctor checked me and I found out that I am two cm dialated and so we could possibly go any time, but we hope that Cooper stays in there until next Friday night.

Today the wonderful people that I work with took me out to lunch. We went to Bravo! (my favorite restaurant) for lunch, and they gave me gifts! I cannot wait for Cooper to meet these fine, fine people!

Tim had a DR test today, and I guess it went pretty well, because he was back home before I made it home for this night. He usually stays at DR very late and today he was home early! That's great!

Tomorrow I will go back to the doctor for another non stress test. The rest of the weekend we'll see what happens, I hope we do a bit of cooking and cleaning, but other than that, who knows. It is our last weekend without a little baby around. I'm SO EXCITED for my baby boy to arrive! LIFE IS WONDERFUL!!! Little Cooper James, I love you already and cannot wait to hold you in my arms! :)

36 Weeks

Well, we’ve hit 36 weeks! Only one more week until Cooper is “full term” and two more weeks until we go into the hospital! I will be going into the hospital on the evening of October 2nd, and will be induced on October 3rd.

Last weekend was fun! Erica threw me a baby shower at her house for all of my close friends, I had a great time and hope they all did too! I am such a lucky girl to have such great friends, I wish that everyone could have made it, but for those who did, THANK YOU! We received many goodies from folks at the shower; I’ve got some pictures below.

This week has been pretty good, not a ton going on more than usual. Tim and I met with a potential baby-sitter on Tuesday night, we liked her and we may go with her but hope to do a bit of shopping around before we make our final decision. Wednesday night we made a trip to Sam’s club to pick up a ton of diapers, wipes and a few other things that we needed.

Tonight we are going to a consignment sale at the Hamilton County Fairgrounds; it is called the Indy Kids Consignment Sale. We get to go tonight because we are expecting a baby and they gave us a pass, so exciting! I hope we find several things at good prices!

Andrew has had tennis matches on Tuesday and also one tonight, he won on Tuesday, but the team didn’t. I hope he wins tonight too! GOOD LUCK CHUCK! Stephanie has been pretty busy this week, she had a funny dream about Cooper growing up really fast last night; I hope he doesn’t grow up that fast!

I guess that’s it for this week, Steph’s 20th birthday is tomorrow so we’re all going out to Olive Garden to celebrate! HAPPY BIRTHDAY STEPHANIE!!!
