Less than One Week!

Nothing much happening this week, I do not have much if any baby news. We are on the countdown to finding out baby's sex. We go in at 8am on May 19th for our ultrasound.

Tomorrow I will be 18 weeks pregnant. My belly is really starting to show. My shirts are pretty much all too small, and its the first time in my life my belly has stuck out further than my boobs. A weird feeling! I know I will get much much larger so I'm trying to be ok with this and realize its not fat, its just the baby.

Construction is still going on at the house, but we are making progress. Some walls have been painted and some trim is up, we've got more to go, but every little bit helps! Tim has done a great job with everything, I am so lucky to have such a handyman for a husband! I have put a couple of pictures of the finished floor, new paint and trim below if you'd like to take a peek. Once more is done, I'll take better pictures!

Andrew is busy almost every night with golf, playing Varsity on the high school team. For his first year on the team, he's doing a phenomenal job! Steph is finished with school for the summer and she's working a few days a week at the Mariott.

I started with my final month of classes for my MBA on Tuesday and my last day is June 11. I am travelling for work to a training May 26 - 30 and so I will get to miss a couple of classes, hopefully that'll make the time go much faster!

Better!

Well, the bleeding stopped by Friday the 24th, and I was relieved. None since then.

I went to the doctor last Wednesday for the follow-up ultrasound and doctor appointment to find out what was going on with the bleeding. The doc said that I still had a pocket of blood there, that was either a bit larger than before or about the same size, she couldn't be 100% sure because the ultrasound pics weren't all that clear. She said that the bleeding would probably resolve itself on its own and that I shouldn't be surprised if I see more bleeding, but if not, that was fine too.

Most important. Baby is doing fine! Pefect in fact! We were so thankful for that news.

I do not have any more doctor's appointments until we have our ultrasound appointment on May 19th to find out the baby's sex. The OB told me to go back to normal with my activity, but no running marathons, (like I would do that anyway?!?) I had my diabetes doctor appointment last Friday and she is happy with the way things are going with me, no adjustments to anything just yet. I assume soon enough the insulin doses will go up.

I finally gave in last Sunday the 26th and ordered some maternity clothes. It was about time considering none of my regular shirts are fitting these days. I haven't had any weight gain in a couple of months which is great, but my belly is sure growing. I ordered online with Walmart, Sears and JCPenney and got some pretty good clearance deals!

A bit of a scare.....

Tuesday night/Wednesday morning around midnight I woke up and had to go to the bathroom and found much blood when I finished. Tim rushed me to the hospital where they ran many tests, we were there until nearly 4am. They didn’t know what was making me bleed but we did hear baby’s heartbeat so they sent me home. I wasn’t in any pain so that was a blessing!

Wednesday morning when we finally woke up we called my OB and they said to get into the office as soon as I could, that they would do an ultrasound and see how the baby was. We got there within the hour and had the ultrasound done, baby appears to be doing just fine, heart-rate was good and everything else looked just perfect! I have a pocket of blood and they do not know why or how it happened. The doctor said it is nothing that I could have done to cause it. The doc told me to take it easy and have no physical activity, only stairs when I have to and no walking. I cannot even lift clothes out of the washer and put into the dryer. Cannot lift anything heavier than a gallon of milk. (Tim won’t even let me do that much.) Can't go to the grocery store because that is too much walking So I was at home laying down the past two days.

I decided I couldn’t take it anymore and came back to work today. The doc said that was fine as long as I sat most of the day and didn’t move around too much. I told her that I wouldn't - and she said as long as I took the elevator and Tim would drop me off at the front door, she was ok with me going back to work.

Tim has been so wonderful taking care of me. He is not letting me do anything - and is really watching over me. Thanks to God for sending me such a wonderful man!!! The kiddos are being quite good too, helping when I ask and bringing me stuff. I am so blessed to have such a great family!

I have an ultrasound to check on baby next Wednesday, so I will have more news by then at least. In the meantime, if you could send a few thoughts/prayers our way, we would really appreciate them!

The Weekend

Tim and I visited southern Indiana this past weekend to see my family. We hadn't been down for a weekend since Thanksgiving! Time sure flies! The weekend seemed to fly by, but they always do!

Friday night we had dinner with Dad, Grandpa, Kieran, Craig, Casey, Larissa and Layne. Then we visited awhile and headed out to Horseshoe Casino. Tim played blackjack for awhile and won a little bit of money. He had a good time, and by the time we left, I was exhausted, it was nearly midnight. I must also say, my little nephew, Layne - is so adorable! He sleeps non-stop it seems, but so so so so cute. I cannot wait for Baby Johnson to come! I keep reminding myself that it will be almost 6 more months before that happens...... 4 weeks until ultrasound to find out the baby's sex!!! I am officially 14 weeks and 4 days today.

Saturday we got up and went down to Bowles mattress company to search for a new bed for Andrew. When he moves downstairs to his new room we are going to get him a new bed, and we're thinking a full long. I had never heard of this - but it is like an extra long twin, only in a full size. Same length as a queen but the width of a full. We'll see though, that was only our first shopping trip. After that, headed to Sears to get Dad's new washer and dryer. We ate lunch and headed back to Dad's house. I took a nap while Dad and Tim talked and talked. It was such a pretty day that Dad wanted to take a ride, and I wanted to go and visit my mom so that is just what we did. Then to Grandpa & Kierans for pizza and brats & hotdogs. We had a good visit with them and Sharon, Jason & Stephen. Stephen got a new boxer puppy named Bowser, and he is so cute!!!

On Sunday, Dad, Craig, Casey, Larissa, Layne, Tim and I had breakfast and then we went to look at a house for sale. We want to look around down there in case we ever decide to move south. Then back to Dad's, I had another nap (gotta love naps!) and then it was time to head north. Made it home around 5 - just in time for me to spend the next 6 hours working on my MBA work.

Only one more class for this semester in my MBA, then May 12 - June 11 twice or three times a week and I'll be completely done!!! No more school ever again! (At least I hope)
