Ice/Snow Storm

We've been stuck at home since Monday night.  I'm not complaining, I have actually really enjoyed my time at home with my boys, however, I am not looking foward to driving in the inches of ice in my neighborhood.

Here are some pictures just outside my house.

See all of that white, it's ice, not snow, we didn't even have snow at this point!!

That's my van, completely covered in ice, took us over 30 minutes to melt the ice off of the windows, then more time to get it out of the inches of ice that were surrounding the tires.

The tree looks beautiful, and it's completely covered in ice.  We were all worried about so much ice that the power lines would go down.  Some people lost power, but thankfully it hasn't been for very long periods of time, the average customer was out of power for 35 minutes.

Here is what were were supposed to see by this morning.  After all that came, we got an inch or two of snow to be extra fluffy on top of all of that beautiful crazy ice.

Tomorrow I am going back into the office.  I will warm up my van in the 7 degree temperatures in the morning, I will pack my stuff, my son and battle the ice.  It will be EMILY v. the ICE.  I will beat it.  I am determined to get back to work.

Wish me luck!  If anyone else in the midwest is going to battle the ice tomorrow, Good Luck to YOU too!!!

It's Wednesday already!  We've definitely had some icy/snowy weather here in Indianapolis so far this week, so the family has been at home the last day and a half just enjoying our time, hoping the power doesn't go out.

I'm loving that I have a family filled weekend ahead!  Friday night Cooper and I and maybe Tim will be heading down south to visit with my Mom, Shawn, and having a birthday party for my aunt Sheila.  I am excited for this because at least 3 of the 5 2009 babies will be together.   Saturday afternoon, we'll head back to Indianapolis and Sunday, my dad and Gwen are heading up to visit.  Should be a great weekend!!

I'm LOVING these wonderful popcorn "Chipins" from Popcorn, Indiana.  These things are awesome!  I'm addicted!  I bought some in hot buffalo for my hubby, and white cheddar and sea salt for all of us.  The nutrition information for these popcorn chips can be found here.  If you have the chance, pick up a bag, they were only $2.87 per bag at my local Wal-Mart.  Plus the newspaper this past Sunday had a $1.50/off one bag!  Yippie!

I'm loving that my hubby, son, mom and her husband visited the Indianapolis Home Show this past weekend.  Tim and I got lots of new ideas for updates to our house.  Some we won't do on our current house, but we'll use for a future house.  Some, I think we'd have to be millionaires to implement, but would be so super nice.  One idea we loved was a whole house audio visual system.  You can install iPads into the walls of your house to control your entire houses audio and visual needs.  It is simply an App.  The system is amazing.  I'd love to have it, control which dvds my kids are watching in the play room, control what my husband is watching and listening to in the garage.  I can only imagine playing some tricks on him. =]

I'm also loving our new steam mop, it's the Smart Living Steam Mop. We got this bad boy this weekend at the home show.  We've been looking at steam mops for awhile now, we need entire house solutions for our floors.  When we saw this one being demonstrated at the home show we just couldn't resist.  We did our entire downstairs yesterday and I am totally impressed!  We have 30 days to decide, but for now, this item is here to stay.  If you are interested, check it out here

I'm loving The Social Network.  A couple of girlfriends and I watched it last Friday night and I wasn't expecting much.  It turned out to be a pretty good movie.  I am now fascinated with what really happened if this story was stretched and falsified for movie purposes.  I've been googling and doing whatever article research that I can.  A bit obsessed is what I'd call it. Ha!

Last but not least, I'm loving these two wonderful guys!  They are my life and so super special to me!!

Hope you all have a Wonderful Wednesday, I cannot wait to read some of your loves for the day!

Top Two Tuesday

Today over at Taylor's blog, its time for Top Two Tuesday!  One of my favorite blog posts of the week!

1) Friends are extenions to family.  I have a few friends in my life that have touched my heart like only sisters can. (or at least how I imagine sisters can)  These ladies are truly my family and I am so thankful for them, their friendship has gotten me through so many good and bad things in my life.

2)  Friendship is a necessity of life.  Without friends, life is boring and unhappy.  I went through a summer during high school where I was transitioning away from a group of friends that weren't true friends.  During this time, I learned what real friendships were and how important they are to being happy in life.  Friends are there to lend their ears for listening and arms for hugging.  My life just would not be the same without friendship.

I am lucky to have many friends and friendships that I cherish.  Some are new to me within the last year through this blog.  Thanks to you lovely ladies who encourage and share your lives with me, and read when I share mine with you! :)

Have a great Tuesday friends.

Is it Friday yet???

Does anyone else feel like this week has gone sooooooooo super slow????  I woke up this morning thinking it was Thursday and have been disappointed all day.  I'm READY for Friday evening.

Hubby has an outting planned with Steph's boyfriend, some real male bonding stuff, so I think Cooper and I will have a playdate at home.  When he goes to bed, I will have some alone time!  I'll walk and get a movie in maybe!  I'm really looking forward to it!!

Saturday we are heading out to the Indianapolis Home Show with my mom and her husband.  Sunday we have no plans!  I hope to get my hair trimmed up sometime this weekend if I can.  We'll see if I can get all that done.

What are your plans for the weekend?  I'm obviously really looking forward to a couple of days off!  How about you?
