WEEKEND!

I love weekends. They are what keep me sane and I am so thankful for them. Now, I wish they could all be three day weekends, but two days are certainly nice too.

Saturday, The Johnson Five slept in until 12:30pm. Cooper, Tim, and I did get up for about an hour and a half but were back in bed sleeping by 1oam. After we finally got up, we fed Cooper, then Tim made omelets, oh goodness, he was trying some new methods and ended up wasting 4 eggs. Andrew mowed the lawn and it looks so nice, but in the meantime I think he burned up, it was sooooooo hot outside. Then we cleaned up some and went swimming with Steph and Ryan. It was a great day for swimming. Later we went to Mug-n-Bun, it was the first time Tim and I had been there, it was pretty good. Then home to take Cooper for a short walk in his new Radio Flyer wagon and then swimming again.

Sunday so far, we've been doing laundry, grocery shopping, cooking, cleaning and general get ready for the new week type of stuff. Cooper took a bath in his green beans during lunch time. I made pizza on the grill and listed several of my old Boyd's Bears on ebay. Hopefully they'll sell, even if I only make a dollar or two on each, I'll be happy, just to make something on them!

One day last week, Tim and I went to Qdoba for breakfast because we had a bogo free coupon. Oh boy, those are yummy! Soooo..... we decided we're going to try to copy them and make breakfast burritos at home in the mornings. We bought all the goodies, the only thing we don't really have a replacement for is their queso, but we'll use shredded cheese and see how that works. I'm excited to try that this week, we already grilled the chicken and also got the potatoes all cooked up, so in the mornings we'll just have to warm up those things and make the eggs.

Lately we haven't seen much of Andrew, he is with his girlfriend a lot, and when he's not with her, he seems to be working. I guess this is just a preview of what we'll have once he goes to IU in the fall. Hard to believe that in less than one month Tim will be moving Andrew in to school. We miss him already, I don't know what we'll do when he's gone. After awhile we'll get used to it I assume.

First Post - Finally!

This is my first post to the site, and I'm so glad that I'm finally able to do this! I'm at work now, so this post will be short and sweet. This blog will be about the Johnson Five, a family on the go, and moving in all directions. Thanks for checking this out.

Cooper is 4 weeks old

Well, I've been slacking on writing on this blog, but here we are and I'm back at least for today. Cooper is now 4 weeks and 2 days old! I cannot believe my little man is 4 weeks old already! He is growing like a weed!

We went to the doctor 2 days after we got out of the hospital and he weighed the exact same as when we left the hospital at 6 lbs 10 oz. Then we went back one week later and Cooper had gained 13 oz weighing in at 7 lbs 7 oz. He had eaten very well! We go back this week on Thursday for his one month check up - I think we'll find that he's gained a few pounds. We are now out of newborn diapers, he is too big for them now!

Tim was off for two weeks and we had a great time visiting with all kinds of family and friends, it was wonderful. The past couple of weeks it has mostly just been Cooper and me at home, and that's been pretty good too. Stephanie and Andrew are home when not at school, work or other activities and they are loving playing with their little brother. "Playing" consists of holding him, but as time goes on he'll be more playful for real.
When Cooper was 10 days old we took him to get his "newborn" pictures taken at JCPenney, and they turned out so good, he was sleeping and he's hard to wake up, so we only have a couple of shots with his eyes open, but that's ok, he was adorable anyway!

Speaking of sleeping..... We've had a rough time with Cooper having his days and nights mixed up, until this past Friday night. He has actually started sleeping much better at night lately, I am so thankful for that too, because I was getting really really worn out and spending most of the daytime doing nothing but sitting around. If dinner was prepared it was amazing!

This weekend we are going to go down south for the weekend for my Dad's birthday celebration. We'll also visit with Nana and Cooper's Grandma Heil, but Saturday will be reserved for Papaw Smith and Grandpa Smith and Uncle Craig, Aunt Casey and Cousins Larissa and Layne.
